Pulse is a community-first social platform built for music, art, and wellness communities worldwide. We're committed to being transparent about how we handle your data — because trust is the foundation of community. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
When you create an account, we collect your email address and any profile information you choose to provide, including your display name, bio, avatar, role types, genres, and social or website links (Instagram, SoundCloud, etc.).
When you use the app, we also collect the content you post — including text, images, videos, and comments — along with event RSVPs, check-ins, messages, and collaboration requests you create.
Location data: If you grant location permissions, we use your approximate location to show you nearby events, venues, and community members. Location is used for filtering and discovery — it is not continuously tracked in the background.
App activity & analytics: We collect anonymous usage analytics (such as which features you use and app performance metrics) to improve the app. This data is aggregated and not linked to your identity.
We do not sell your personal data to anyone, ever.
We use your information to:
Direct messages are stored on our servers. If you choose to enable end-to-end encryption in a conversation, your messages are encrypted on your device before they ever reach us, and we cannot read the contents — we only store the encrypted ciphertext.
If you purchase a subscription, payment processing is handled by our payment provider (Base44 Payments, powered by Wix). We receive a record of your subscription status and plan, but your full payment details are never stored on our servers.
All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted in transit using TLS (HTTPS). Your passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text.
If you enable end-to-end encryption in a direct message conversation, your messages are encrypted on your device before they reach our servers, and we cannot read the contents.
Pulse uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy practices:
We do not use third-party advertising SDKs. We do not sell or share your data with ad networks.
We use your browser's local storage to remember your preferences — such as your selected font and background theme — so you don't have to set them each time. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising trackers.
Your profile, posts, and event activity are visible to other Pulse users. We do not share your personal information with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes. We may share data if required by law or to protect the safety of our community.
Your data stays on Pulse for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from your profile settings, which permanently removes your profile, posts, messages, and associated data — typically within 30 days.
You can also delete specific data without deleting your account — such as individual posts, comments, portfolio items, or your entire content history — from the Data Deletion page.
Some records (like anonymized event attendance counts for venue capacity) may be retained in aggregated form for platform integrity, but they are not linked to your identity.
You can view, edit, or delete your profile information at any time. You can delete individual posts, comments, and messages. If you want a full export or deletion of your data, contact us through the Contact page.
Pulse is intended for users 16 years and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a minor has registered, please contact us and we will remove the account.
We may update this privacy policy as Pulse evolves. If we make significant changes, we'll notify you in the app or by email. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
